PLOS Biology - A new study of the central pattern generator for locomotion uses the Kcnq2 mouse.

The new knock-in model of Kcnq2 generated by the Human Neurogenetics team contributes to dissecting the mechanisms regulating the central pattern generator for locomotion. The article is now available. The study of locomotor interneurons allowed to specify the role of Kcnq2 and of the M current for which it is responsible. Modulation of the M current allows the amplitude of other currents to be adjusted and the emergence of pacemaker behavior to determine locomotor rhythm.
